What's New at FOP The Fresno Deputy Sheriff’s Association would like to offer our sincere sympathy to the family of Gonzalo Carrasco Jr., Selma Police Officer killed in the line of duty and the entire Selma Police Department.
On Tuesday, January 31st, Officer Carrasco was on patrol in a residential neighborhood near Rose and Mitchell Avenue when a neighbor stopped him to report a suspicious person in the area. A short time later, investigators say Officer Carrasco located the suspicious person and attempted to contact him when he was gunned down. Additional officers who responded attempted to provide life-saving measures, but his injuries were too severe. He died at the hospital a short time later.
